Product Description The Columbia® Steens Mountain Sweater for men is made from super-soft and warm polyester MTR Fleece for quick-drying, non-pilling performance. The Radial Sleeve design eliminates restrictions and tugging that occur in the shoulders of ordinary jackets, and a drawcord hem allows you to adjust the bottom fit.
Product Description Rugged looks combined with a soft and comfortable feel describes the Steens Mountain Sweater by Columbia Sportswear. The polyester MTR (Maximum Thermal Retention) fleece means it's easy to clean, quick drying, and pill resistant. All in all, a lightweight zip-front sweater that's designed to pack away in a corner of your suitcase for weekends or entire weeks in the snow and elements. With radial sleeves and a drawcord hem, you won't be afraid to give it your all on a snowboard or the slalom course. Layer it under a windbreaker for cool evening strolls. About Columbia Sportswear Founded in 1938, Columbia Sportswear Company has grown from a small family-owned hat distributor to one of the world's largest outerwear brands and the leading seller of ski-wear in the United States. Columbia's extensive product line includes a wide variety of outerwear, sportswear, rugged footwear and accessories. Columbia specializes in developing innovative products that are functional yet stylish and offer great value. Eighty-year-old matriarch Gert Boyle, Chairman of the Board, and her son, Tim Boyle, President and CEO, lead the company. Columbia's history starts with Gert's parents, Paul and Marie Lamfrom, when they fled Germany in 1937. They bought a small hat distributorship in Portland, Oregon, and named it Columbia Hat Company, after the river bordering the city. Soon frustrated by poor deliveries from suppliers, the Lamfroms decided to start manufacturing products themselves. In 1948, Gert married college sweetheart Neal Boyle, who joined the family business and later took the helm of the growing company. When Neal suddenly died of a heart attack in 1970, Gert enlisted help from Tim, then a college senior. After that, it wasn't long before business really started to take off. Columbia was one of the first companies to make jackets from waterproof/breathable fabric. They introduced the breakthrough technology called the Columbia Interchange System, in which a shell and liner combine for multiple wearing options. In the early 1980s, then 60-year-old Gert began her role as "Mother Boyle" in Columbia's successful and popular advertising campaign. The company went public in 1998 and moved into a new era as a world leader in the active outdoor apparel industry. Today, Columbia Sportswear employs more than 1,800 people around the world and distributes and sells products in more than 50 countries and to more than 12,000 retailers internationally.

Men's Columbia fleect jacket March 5, 2010 C. McFarland (CLARKSVILLE, TN, US) This jacket was a great buy! It's very soft and warm so there's no need for a heavy jacket. My husband loves it.
Just right! February 27, 2010 Clark B. (Gulfport, MS) I needed a fleece jacket. I saw this on Amazon, read the existing reviews, and decided that it was just what I needed for layering for gulf coast up and down winter temps.! Thank you to Amazon and those who had previously reviewed the jacket. It's perfect!
Heavy Jacket Replacement February 24, 2010 Chip B. (Worldwide) I got this as a Xmas gift. I was a little disappointed when I saw the tag, because I was afraid it would be too small, but it fits perfectly. This is the coldest winter we've had in Nebraska for several years. But I've worn this jacket every day since Xmas. Once, when it was quite windy, I was uncomfortable, but this jacket has been fine every other day.
The heavy jacket it replaced had a hood, and I've missed that. I generally only need a jacket between being indoors and the car, and till the car warms up. I wouldn't expect it to replace the heavy jacket if I were outdoors longer.
OTOH, one shouldn't expect this kind of jacket to keep them warm in subfreezing temps unless they're working hard or wearing added layers. I think Columbia has sized its jackets so you can add those extra layers, but you might consider that before you order. If you need more than one additional layer, order a size up.
the perfect fleece February 14, 2010 Patrick Carlin (Fort Myers, FL United States) This is pretty much the perfect fleece jacket especially when the price is considered. I like this jacket so much that I bought two of them, one for home and one to keep at work. I paid $30 both times. My dad also bought one as well as several of his friends. A jacket of this quality at this price is just too hard to pass up. The thickness of this fleece is just right for a cool days outside (50 degrees and up but I mostly wear it indoors at my office where it's cool during the summer from the air conditioner as well as during the winter. I also wear it around the house in the winter. The construction quality of the jacket is excellent and I haven't had any problems after a year of wearing it almost daily. The collar stays up and the zipper is sturdy. I also like the elastic cuffs on the sleeves. That way it fits people of varying arms lengths. On my jackets without elastic cuffs I often find that the sleeves are too long. The pockets zip which is nice and there is an adjustment cord around the waist of the jacket. I found that the sizing is perfect. I normally wear a large in shirts and jackets and a large in this jacket is just right.
Columbia jacket February 10, 2010 Cyber Mom (Kansas) This was given as a gift and they loved it! The size, the quality and comfort are all high quality!
